Hello!
In 2010, whilst comfortably lounging around, I decided that 2011 would be a year of activity and fitness. Unfortunately, I told a sufficient number of people about this plan that I couldn't back out at a later date and therefore I find myself in the midst of a '12 events in 12 months' challenge. I am undertaking one event each calender month from February 2011 until January 2012.
The events are all predominately running challenges, but are as varied as I could make them. I predict that my favourite challenge will be June's 5K run dressed as a sumo wrestler, and my least favourite is likely to be January's Tough Guy 2012, an endurance obstacle course for which you have to sign a death warrant before participating.
Having already run one marathon years ago, I feel fully qualified to attempt to cram three into 2011, two road marathons and one trail marathon. If you think this sounds like I am over doing it, I completely agree.
Whilst undertaking the 12 challenges I will be raising money for a small Bristol based charity, Unseen UK, that supports the survivors of human trafficking in the UK. More information on the fantastic work carried out by the charity is available under the 'charity' section of this blog.
Many thanks for your support, which is much appreciated by both me and Unseen UK, and I will keep you updated on my progress via the progress pinboard.
Wish me luck!
Amber
